4 police officers have recovered from Covid-19, 7 are still infected

The month of May has marked a drastic decrease in the number of citizens infected with Covid-19, while the number of people who have recovered from the coronavirus in Kosovo has increased significantly. Four police officers who were infected with Covid-19 have been added to the list of those who have recovered, while seven others continue to test positive.

This was announced by Bajram Krasniqi, information officer at the Kosovo Police, who said that the police officers who tested negative are currently staying in self-isolation for several days.

"The number of police officers affected by COVID is 11 in the entire Republic of Kosovo. Of them, 4 have recovered and 7 others continue to be positive, but are in good health... They continue a short self-isolation, then we have a Director of Health Services within the Police, they have been treating them all the time, in addition to the doctors of the National Institute of Public Health, and I believe that depending on the day of the test that came out negative, they will also return to their workplaces," he stressed.

Krasniqi gave details about the 11 police officers who have been affected by COVID19 during this period.

"Several cases have been affected during the transport of persons, one case was in Malishevë where the son was affected and another case was a police officer who was abroad for training and when she returned she tested positive. And we have the other five cases in the northern part of Mitrovica that are affected by COVID", said Krasniqi.

So far in Kosovo, 870 people have tested positive, of which 653 patients have recovered while 28 have died.
