AAK decision, all former MPs re-enter the race
The lists of candidates for deputies for the elections on October 6 of this year are expected to be dominated by many former deputies from the previous legislature, who aim to win another mandate.
While some former MPs have been penalized for seeking another mandate due to indictments confirmed by the court.
Until Friday, September 6, political entities in Kosovo will have the opportunity to compile lists of candidates for deputies and submit them to the Central Election Commission. But so far, none of the political entities has completed these lists, in which most of the deputies of the previous legislature are expected to be part of the race for deputies in the new elections on October 6.
Former Alliance for the Future of Kosovo MP Rasim Selmanaj has announced to "Zëri" that all MPs from the previous legislature from this party will run in the October 6 elections. He announced that within this list, which will be finalized today, there will also be room for new figures.
"We are almost at the end of the list, but it will be finished by Thursday. Naturally, there will be new candidates on the AAK list, but you will be able to see what the final list will be on Thursday. Up to this moment, all the deputies who were in this last legislature are on the AAK list, including me," Selmanaj said, writes the Zëri newspaper. In the last legislature, AAK deputies were: Ahmet Isufi, Muharrem Nitaj, Daut Haradinaj, Blerim Kuqi, Time Kadrijaj, Teuta Haxhiu, Donika Kadaj, Emilija Rexhepi, Shkumbin Demalijaj, Rasim Selmanaj, Gani Dreshaj and Bekë Berisha. The list of candidates will also include university professor Afrim Hoti.
