The FVA announces the ban on the import of live poultry and their products from Poland

The Food and Veterinary Agency (AVA), based on the reports of the World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH) and the European Commission dated January 11, announces that the presence of Avian Influenza (HPAI–H5N1) has been confirmed in the Republic of Poland.

The disease has been identified on commercial, family farms and in wild birds in the Lubuskie, Wielkopolskie, Kodzkie and Podlaskie regions.

In order to protect animal health and food safety in the Republic of Kosovo, the FVA imposes an immediate ban on the import of live poultry and their products from the affected areas. Unless they originate from farms unaffected by the disease, which are located within a radius of 50 km from the affected areas.

This measure takes effect immediately and remains in effect until further assessment of the situation.
The FVA will continue to monitor the situation and inform the public and economic operators of any eventual changes.

The Food and Veterinary Agency continues to carefully monitor the epidemiological situation and cooperate closely with local and international institutions to prevent the spread of this disease. The public and economic operators will be informed in a timely manner of any eventual changes.
