Around 70 thousand visitors visited Kosovo in just one month

During December 2025 alone, 68,293 visitors were registered in Kosovo's hotels, which represents an increase of 6,1 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, when their number was 64,380.

Kosovo is increasingly becoming a favorite destination for domestic and foreign visitors. In December 2025 alone, a total of 68,293 visitors stayed in the country's hotels, marking an increase of 6,1 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, when their number was 64,380.

According to official data from the Kosovo Agency of Statistics, 27,776 of them were domestic visitors, while 40,517 came from abroad — evidence that foreign tourism is gaining momentum.

The number of overnight stays during December reached 132,148, of which 71,624 (or 54,2%) were made by foreign visitors, while 60,524 (45,8%) were made by locals. This shows that foreign visitors, in addition to being more numerous, also stay longer in the country. Among the regions of Kosovo, Peja continues to remain the most frequented destination for domestic visitors. During December 2025, 9,655 domestic visitors and 26,550 overnight stays were registered in this region, reflecting the tourist potential of the mountainous areas and winter resorts in Rugova.

Meanwhile, for foreign visitors, last year marked an increase of 2,5 percent compared to December 2024. Of the total 40,517 foreign visitors, the majority came from Albania, Germany, Switzerland and Turkey, while visits were also recorded from other European countries and beyond.

December 2025 ended the year with a positive balance for the tourism and hospitality sector in Kosovo. The combination of domestic and foreign visitors demonstrates an increased interest in the country, while the growth trend is expected to continue in 2026.

During the day, the British daily The Guardian also dedicated an article to places to visit during the country.

This article also managed to list Kosovo and Albania, which according to the British media are definitely worth visiting.

History books provide essential context for hiking in Kosovo, but they don't prepare you for the beauty of the mountains, the article says.

“Over the summer I spent a week on Kosovo’s Via Dinarica, which was recently redefined. We walked past the wildflowers on the border ridge with Montenegro; steep and steep on one side and vibrant green on the other, descending towards meadows of pink and yellow wildflowers,” it was said, among other things.

Bees flew around the high cliffs, while brightly colored bee-eaters perched on branches below.

Wild animals lost to much of Europe still thrive here (bears, wolves, lynxes) in a mosaic of oak and beech trees, blueberries and shrubs, deep valleys and high plateaus.
