Albanians can't pay tuition fees, politicians' children in foreign schools
University students in Albania held their 7th day of protest today for the reduction of fees, improvement of dormitory conditions, and participation in administrative boards.
They have submitted 8 requests to the government, while Prime Minister Edi Rama, in his statements or messages on social networks, has strongly discouraged dialogue. But where do the children of politicians and ministers study?
Mikeli, the son of Mimi Kodheli, former Minister of Defense, studies and lives in Florence, Italy.
The son of former Minister of Urban Development and Tourism, Eglantina Gjermeni, Erik, lives and studies in London.
The daughter of former Minister of Transport, Edmond Haxhinasto, Eliza, lives and studies in Tirana.
The daughter of the Minister of Culture, Mirela Kumbaro, also lives and studies outside Albania. Sara has chosen the city of Menton in France.
Barcelona is the city selected by the daughter of the Minister of Education, Lindita Nikolla.
Meanwhile, the daughter of the Minister of Economy, Arben Ahmetaj, continues her studies at a private Turkish school.
Most politicians have sent their children to study abroad, while Albanians not only cannot afford to do so, but they also find it impossible to afford the annual university fees.
