The UCCK was overloaded over the weekend, citizens are urged to use this center only for serious cases

During the weekend, the Emergency Center at the University Clinical Center of Kosovo faced a high influx of patients, treating a total of around 900 cases, which indicates an extraordinary workload.

The press release of SHSKUK states that during this period, emergency services of various nature were provided, including 194 resuscitation cases, 302 internal medicine treatments, 183 orthopedic cases, 137 surgical cases, and 33 cases that required minor interventions. While 61 of them were accident cases. All these services were provided by teams of specialist doctors and nurses of the Emergency Center.

"A significant portion of patients have presented directly to the Emergency Center, bypassing primary and secondary health services. The University Clinical Center of Kosovo calls on citizens to refer non-emergency cases first to family medicine centers or regional hospitals. The Emergency Center should remain reserved for serious and life-threatening cases. Citizens' cooperation is essential to enable the provision of timely healthcare to patients who are in direct danger to their lives," the announcement states./Indeksonline/
