An all-time record was broken in the automotive industry in Turkey

The Turkish automotive market achieved a historic success. A total of 927,000 vehicles were sold in the first nine months of 2025, breaking an all-time record.

Sales figures for both passenger cars and light commercial vehicles increased, with the SUV segment in particular gaining ground.

So, which brands were the most popular in Turkey and which models topped the list?

The most preferred type of vehicle among Turks was SUVs with a share of 62.7 percent and 465,791 sales.

SUVs were followed by sedans with a 22.3 percent share and 165,308 sales and H/B cars with a 14.1 percent share and 104,461 sales.

Cars with automatic transmission accounted for 94.3 percent of sales with 700,465 units, while cars with manual transmission accounted for 5.7 percent with 42,222 units.

The brands that stood out in sales during the 9-month period were:

Fiat – continued its leadership with the Egea family.

Renault – achieved high sales figures with its Clio and Megane models.

Toyota – Attracted attention with its hybrid and SUV models.

Volkswagen – took first place with the Polo and Passat.
