Full post:

Dear LDK members,

Honorable structures of the branches, sub-branches, of the Women's Forum and the Youth Forum,

Honorable members of the LDK General Council and the LDK Presidency,

Honorable delegates of the LDK Assembly,

Following the resignation of Chairman Abdixhiku due to the recent election results, I inform you that at the LDK Assembly meeting on January 31, 2026, I will seek your trust to lead the Democratic League of Kosovo.

On this occasion, I thank all the leadership structures of the LDK for their dedication in leading the LDK in the last five years: Chairman Abdixhiku, colleagues of the Presidency, branches and sub-branches and forums throughout Kosovo. My deep gratitude goes, first and foremost, to the loyal membership of the LDK — the pillar on which this party has stood and will always stand.

At this crucial moment for the LDK and for Kosovo, I pledge with full responsibility to take on the burden of the political and organizational revival of the party. I pledge to lead a completely inclusive, transparent process and in full compliance with the Statute, where every member, every branch and every forum has a voice and an active role in the revival of the LDK and in the decisions we make as a political house of democracy.

I pledge that no one will be left on the margins. That we will build an open, fair and competitive LDK. An LDK where advancement is based on merit, integrity and commitment; where professionals, women and young people find the space they deserve; and where new energy joins with experience to turn LDK into the main governing alternative of the Republic of Kosovo.

I am deeply convinced that the potential of the LDK is much greater. It is time to unleash and channel this potential to turn the LDK into the main political force in the Republic of Kosovo, in service of the citizens and the state interest.

Together, we will restore and strengthen our fundamental values: internal democracy, political courage to take responsibility, state-building vision and unwavering Euro-Atlantic orientation. These values are not a memory of a glorious past — they are indispensable for our future. Only by returning to them, with determination and unity, will we return the LDK to the forefront of the democratic and state processes of the Republic of Kosovo.

This is the moment for unity. For prudence. For political courage. For a new beginning built on principles, faith, and vision.

God bless the Democratic League of Kosovo!

God bless the Republic of Kosovo!
