Barcelona are seriously involved in the race for the English defender
Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi will be available as a free agent in three months, and Europe's biggest clubs are in the running to secure his signature. The England defender appears to have decided to leave Crystal Palace.
Guehi was expected to sign for Liverpool after a €35m deal was reached at the end of the summer transfer window, but Palace withdrew the offer at the last minute, which has left his future uncertain and frustrated the player.
Transfer expert Florian Plettenberg has confirmed that Barcelona are "seriously involved" in the race for Guehi. It was previously reported that the 25-year-old was a target for the Catalan giants, but without any clear advantage.
Plettenberg also confirms that Real Madrid and Liverpool are also in the running for Guehi. They are also eyeing a centre-back, although there are doubts over who they will go for, as they are also interested in Bayern Munich's Dayot Upamecano and Liverpool's Ibrahima Konaté — both out of contract next summer.
Bayern are also closely following the Palace captain and have held initial talks with his agents, according to Plettenberg. Sporting director Max Eberl is an admirer of his, but their further moves will depend on decisions over the futures of Kim Min-Jae and Upamecano.
In this situation, three big names will be available next summer, and at least four teams appear to be evaluating the possibility of bringing in at least one of them — while Liverpool and Bayern could choose to keep Konaté and Upamecano. Both Spanish El Clásico clubs will need reinforcements and will undoubtedly feel well-positioned to secure at least one of these players.
