Basha and Angılı talk about communities in Kosovo and Albanians in Turkey

The Speaker of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, Dimal Basha, welcomed the Ambassador of Turkey to Kosovo, Sabri Tunç Angılı, and the Deputy Ambassador, Şeyda Çimeli Aydın, to the meeting.

During the meeting, Basha briefed Ambassador Angılı on the latest developments in the Kosovo Assembly, specifically on the constitution of the Kosovo Assembly. President Basha emphasized his commitment to closely cooperate with all communities in Kosovo, ensuring that their rights are respected and protected in accordance with the highest standards offered by our legislation. He also emphasized that the Kosovo Assembly will work to address all the needs of the communities through the legislative agenda of this mandate.

One of the key topics of discussion was the position of the Albanian diaspora in Turkey, which is an added value and an important factor in strengthening ties between the two countries. The Albanian diaspora has contributed to the development of cultural and economic relations, creating a strong bridge between our peoples.

Basha thanked Angılı for the continued support and close cooperation, especially in the field of defense, considering this as an important step for strengthening relations between the two states and for regional stability in the Western Balkans.

Within the framework of this meeting, the Turkish ambassador handed over to Basha the congratulatory letter from the Speaker of the Parliament of Turkey, Prof. Dr. Numan Kurtulmuş.

In his message, Kurtulmuş expressed "congratulations to the brotherly people of Kosovo for peace and well-being, while also conveying his wishes for success and health to the honorable members of the Kosovo Assembly."

At the end of the meeting, Basha thanked the Speaker of the Turkish Parliament for the congratulations, and agreed with Ambassador Angılı on the need to continue cooperation between Kosovo and Turkey at an even higher level, as well as to strengthen relations between the two parliaments, through the creation of friendship groups as soon as possible.

Committees, parliamentary groups and friendship groups will play an important role in strengthening these relations, enabling deeper communication and cooperation between the two countries.
