British doctor charged with 45 serious offences against 38 patients
Former doctor Nathaniel Spencer has been accused of a series of serious sexual offences against up to 38 patients under his care.
The offences took place between 2017 and 2021 at the Royal Stoke University Hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall Hospital in Dudley, Sky News reports.
Spencer (38) faces a total of 45 charges, including 15 counts of sexual assault, 17 counts of penetrative assault, nine counts of sexual assault on a child under 13, three counts of penetrative assault on a child under 13 and one count of attempted penetrative assault.
Ben Samples, deputy chief prosecutor at the West Midlands Crown Prosecution Service, said in a statement that Nathaniel Spencer is accused of a series of serious sexual offences committed against patients while he was working as a doctor.
"Our prosecutors have worked long and hard to support the police's detailed and complex investigation, carefully reviewing the available evidence to determine that there was sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial," he said.
Spencer, who lives in Birmingham, is expected to appear at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre on January 20, 2026.
