Fierce debate with the referee, heavy penalties for Chiellini and Comolli
Two Juventus directors, Damien Comolli and Giorgio Chiellini, have received heavy punishments.
This is because there the two, along with coach Luciano Spalletti, had a heated argument with the referee of the match against Inter, Federico La Penna, writes IndeksOnline.
They reacted because of the red card given to Pierre Kalulu.
After reviewing the referee's match report, sports referee Gerardo Mastrandrea imposed sanctions on Juventus officials.
As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Damien Comolli received a suspension until March 31 and a fine of 15,000 euros "for adopting an aggressive and seriously threatening attitude towards the referee in the tunnel leading to the dressing rooms at the end of the first half, requesting physical contact, which was prevented thanks to the intervention of the Juventus coach and other members and staff."
The club's executive director "also seriously insulted the referee and repeated this behavior in front of the referees' locker room."
Giorgio Chiellini has been suspended until 27 February 2026, “because, at the end of the first half, in the tunnel leading to the dressing rooms, he protested in an agitated and disrespectful manner against the referee, repeating this behaviour in front of the referees’ dressing room”. He also “in the same context, made insulting remarks against the match officials”, an offence that was “noticed by an assistant referee”.
Meanwhile, there was no punishment for Juventus coach Luciano Spalletti../IndeksOnline/
