Five people take young man hostage for 5 thousand euros in Tirana, two arrested
Tirana police have arrested two people and are searching for three others, after they are suspected of taking hostage and physically assaulting a 27-year-old man, in order to extort 5000 euros from him.
Preliminary investigations show that the perpetrators deprived the young man of his freedom for several hours, holding him in an apartment and using violence against him to force him to hand over the sum of 5000 euros.
After the victim handed over the money, the perpetrators threatened him again to give them another amount.
As a result of the police operation, 5 citizens suspected of being the perpetrators of the incident were identified, two of whom were arrested in flagrante delicto, while three other accomplices have been declared wanted.
During the search carried out at the apartment of citizen AK, 60 years old, the father of one of the arrested, a firearm, a pistol with combat ammunition, was found and seized as material evidence.
In the room where his son, citizen LK, was staying, the police found and seized 5000 euros, which is suspected to be the amount taken by force from the 27-year-old.
In total, during the operation, the following were seized: 1 firearm, a pistol with combat ammunition, 5000 euros, 6 cell phones and 1 vehicle.
The materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance in Tirana, for further procedural actions.
