From this date, the internet will never be the same again?
The US government is preparing to consign net neutrality to history.
Net neutrality means that all traffic there is treated equally.
However, the new rules will allow internet providers to block or slow down access to certain sites.
Currently, operators cannot offer special treatment to any site. With the new law, they will be able to allow some sites to open faster, while access to others will be charged more.
Big internet companies such as Google, Netflix, Facebook and Reddit are fighting against the removal of net neutrality.
The bill will be voted on on December 14th and if passed, the internet will not be the same, as it will look more like cable television.
