Germany arrests spy, was sitting behind Merz and Zelensky

Germany's Federal Prosecutor's Office has arrested a female spy in Berlin, suspected of working for Russia.

The German-Ukrainian woman is suspected of, among other things, providing information about the war in Ukraine to a Russian intelligence service, as announced by the Federal Prosecutor's Office - the highest prosecuting authority in Germany.

According to the statement, searches were carried out at her home and at the homes of other suspects in the German states of Brandenburg and Rhineland-Palatinate, as well as in the Bavarian city of Munich.

The Federal Prosecutor's Office stated that the suspected agent had maintained contact with a contact person at the Russian Embassy in Berlin, who worked for a Russian intelligence service, since at least November 2023.

"On several occasions, the accused provided him with information related, among other things, to the war between the Russian Federation and Ukraine," the prosecutor's office said.
