Gërxhaliu: The state budget has become the private property of LVV

The former president of the Kosovo Chamber of Commerce, Safet Gërxhaliu, believes that the country's current budget has become the private property of the party that is leading the incumbent government.

Speaking about the 100 euros allocated to students during the election campaign, Gërxhaliu told RTV21 that politicians must understand that votes are not bought but earned. According to him, in this case there is room for intervention by the prosecution.

"What is hitting Kosovo is the lack of responsibility, there is no accountability, and at this time of the campaign, it is a phenomenon that is noticeable that the state budget is more in the private ownership of political parties than of citizens. We know that Kosovo needs support for both students and poor families for social stability, but for something like this to happen during the campaign is proof of how aggressive the struggle for power is and not in the interest of citizens. Students have higher knowledge than 100 euros... Politicians must understand that votes are not bought but deserved, but the struggle for power is blinding them. I believe that what is happening will be a very worrying matter for the prosecution and the judiciary in the future because the misuse of the state budget to this extent only happens in Kosovo," said Gërxhaliu.
