Google Maps comes with a new feature

Google is bringing an important innovation to its popular maps app – a new "Aerial" button that will make switching between Street View and Satellite view much easier and faster.

This feature, discovered in version 25.39.07 of Google Maps for Android, was enabled before the official release by Android Authority. The button allows users to instantly switch from street view to an aerial (satellite) perspective, in both 2D and 3D, making virtual exploration more complete and intuitive.

Google has invested in smooth animations to make the transition as natural as possible, and the app even remembers the direction you were looking in Street View when you return from Aerial view.

This new feature comes as a great help for users who want to explore neighborhoods, streets, or destinations before physically visiting them, and goes in line with the recent improvements Google has made to public transport navigation.

The official release of the "Aerial" button is expected soon for all Android users, while details for the iOS version have not yet been announced.
