Haliti: If new elections are held in Kosovo, Vetevendosje will lose many votes
Former PDK MP, Xhavit Haliti, commented on the political situation after the elections in Kosovo and the challenges for forming a new government.
On the "Trialog" show on RTSH, Haliti said that we are facing a scenario similar to the previous elections, where the winning party, the Vetëvendosje Movement, is unable to form a government without entering a coalition.
He stressed that the country does not have the luxury of going to new elections, as the consequences will be great, especially for Vetëvendosje, which, according to him, risks a deep decline in popular support.
"The same situation is being repeated as in the past elections, if a coalition is not reached between Vetëvendosje and the opposition parties, I do not see any good solution on the horizon. You need to create a government that works for Kosovo and has an obligation to the citizens. If new elections are held, Vetëvendosje will suffer a major decline in voters and then we will see how the coalition will be created. Kosovo needs a large coalition that takes the appropriate responsibilities and conducts analyses, not by commanding from the cabinet or the prime minister's chair," said Haliti.
