Honda is developing a new V6 engine

Honda has introduced the key technologies of its next-generation large hybrid systems, including a newly developed V6 engine that complies with strict environmental regulations, as well as new powertrains and battery packs that achieve high efficiency and low cost.

Honda aims to improve the fuel efficiency of next-generation large hybrid models by more than 30 percent compared to conventional internal combustion engine models currently sold in the same segment.

Therefore, Honda will combine the next-generation V6 engine with new hybrid system components, which will enable efficient and economical driving – as much as possible for large and heavy vehicles.

Honda also aims to improve the vehicle's full-throttle acceleration performance by more than 10 percent compared to internal combustion engine models currently sold in the same segment, by increasing the efficiency of the engine and each power unit and utilizing battery assistance.

The idea is to introduce this engine and system in Honda's large vehicles by 2027. For now, the US is mentioned as a market, and it remains to be seen whether this system will also be able to be sold in Europe.
