Horror in the air/ Plane engine explodes during flight, pilot makes emergency landing
Passengers on a flight in Nigeria were left in panic after they saw one of the plane's engines destroyed after an explosion through their window.
Video captured by passengers on board an Arik Air flight shows the left engine destroyed as the plane was flying from Lagos to Port Harcourt.

Due to this development, the pilot was forced to make an emergency landing in Benin, while it was reported that there were no injuries among the 80 passengers on board.
Passengers kept their cool despite the dramatic visuals from the cabin when the left engine (CFM56-7B20) of Arik Air Boeing 737-700 (Regd. 5N-MJF) failed while losing a portion of the inlet cowl.
