Heated competition in Junik, the next lawsuit is filed

On the eve of the November 9 elections, the political race in Junik is becoming increasingly heated.

The current mayor of Junik and candidate for a new mandate, Ruzhdi Shehu, has announced that he has filed a lawsuit for compensation for damages against Agron Kuçi and the political entity AAK - Junik Branch, for defamation and public insult, writes IndeksOnline.

In a Facebook post, Shehu emphasized that AAK and Mr. Kuçi have not apologized and have not deleted the statements that he considers defamatory, so the case will now end up in court.

"We will face this issue in court where we will be declared the winner, just like in the November 9 elections," Shehu wrote.

Shehu also announced that a request has been submitted to the State Prosecution Office, the Kosovo Police and the Kosovo Police Inspectorate to guarantee sufficient police presence on election day, in order to prevent possible incidents.

Full post:

Given that Mr. Agron Kuçi and the political entity AAK Branch in Junik have not apologized and have not deleted their defamatory and insulting statements, I inform you that today, on 07.11.2025, I have filed a lawsuit for compensation for damages due to defamation and insult by Mr. Kuçi and AAK Branch in Junik. Regarding this issue, we will face court where we will be declared the winner, just like in the elections of November 9, 2025.

Soon, we will also file other civil lawsuits and criminal charges that we have warned about.

We also inform all Junik residents that today we have officially sent a request to the State Prosecutor's Office, the Kosovo Police and the Kosovo Police Inspectorate. On this occasion, we have requested that on election day on November 9, 2025, a sufficient presence of police officers and other competent officials be engaged. Only in this way can the possible incidents that have been publicly warned about by AAK exponents in Junik be prevented.

It should also be clarified that in the last few hours we have received some information from the citizens of Junik, where it is said that AAK exponents are entering their homes and are trying to buy votes. Fortunately, in our first mandate we installed security cameras in Junik and currently the entire Municipality of Junik is monitored 24/7 by these security cameras. Otherwise, we publicly thank the Kosovo Police for their commitment and dedication, especially during the last days and hours. Absolutely every case is being reported and handled by the competent authorities.

We call on the citizens of Junik to continue to maintain calm until the end of this process. Please ignore the provocations, blackmail and threats of our political opponents. At the same time, we thank all the people of Junik for their cooperation and the continuous information they are providing regarding the irregularities of the last few hours.

There is no doubt that on November 9th we will emerge victorious and victory will be ours. The Yunikas are not sold, bought, or deceived.

We continue +4.
