AP: Serbia receives Russian MIGs, tensions increase in the Balkans

Tuesday, 21 August 2018 14:32The American agency AP announced today the acquisition of two MIG-29 aircraft from the Serbian Air Force, with the assessment that the purchase of weapons, some of which are Russian aircraft, could increase tensions in the Balkans and increase Moscow's influence in the region.
Russia has supplied Serbia with six MIGs free of charge, and two of them that flew today have undergone the overhaul process, while all Russian aircraft will be repaired, which will cost Serbia about 185 million euros.
