Chocolate is healthy for pregnant women

Regular consumption of small amounts of chocolate during pregnancy has a positive effect on placental function and fetal blood circulation, Canadian scientists have published.

Researchers at Laval University have discovered that some chocolate helps expectant mothers because it reduces the risk of high blood pressure, which is dangerous during pregnancy.

The study involved chocolate consumption in 130 women who were between 11 and 14 weeks pregnant at the start of the study period.

Pregnant women ate only 30 grams of chocolate every day during the four-month period.

Many previous studies have linked moderate chocolate consumption to a positive impact on several aspects of cardiovascular health.
