Is there room in prison for 109 people? Aliu: Sufficient space has been found

The Director of the Regional Police in Prizren, Faton Aliu, has indicated that the 109 people detained in connection with the manipulation of the results of the early elections of December 28 will be rehabilitated.

He made this clear at the press conference, as there were reports about whether there would be room in detention centers.

"In the early hours of the morning, the operational plan began to be implemented. We, as the Prizren Regional Directorate, have assisted with personnel, with sufficient space, offices and vehicles, because we have understood that this is a very large number, the largest number so far of detained persons in our region. All those who have been processed in the premises of the police stations and the regional directorate, have all been respected for their rights in the procedure for which the investigations have been conducted."

Alia said that there were no injured people, no injured police officers, and no damage to vehicles because "you saw a fairly large movement of vehicles in the city."

"Up until now, everything has gone well. There have been questions and interest in possible spaces for the accommodation of detained persons. In the cooperation we have had with the KCS, sufficient space has been found and all of them will be accommodated as foreseen in the criminal procedure for such cases," he said.
