Israel claims responsibility for attack in Doha, Qatar

Israel has taken full responsibility for the attacks in Doha.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office said in an official statement that the attack was carried out against Hamas terrorists.

"Today's action against the top Hamas terrorist leaders was a completely independent Israeli operation.

Israel initiated and led it and takes full responsibility", the statement says.

This statement comes after reports that the US played a role in the operation.

An Israeli official said Donald Trump "gave the green light" for the attack.

On the other hand, the US Embassy in Qatar has issued a shelter-in-place order for American citizens in Doha.

She has urged citizens to stay in safe places and monitor the Embassy's social media for updates.
