CEC explains why votes in Podujevo are not being recounted
The Central Election Commission has explained why the recount is not taking place in the municipality of Podujeva?
According to data on the CEC results platform, 11 out of 110 polling stations in this municipality have been recounted, and this situation is from before January 19, 2026.
CEC spokesperson, Valmir Elezi, explained why the number of recounted polling stations has not changed.

"Before January 19, 2026, about 10% of the polling stations were recounted by the municipality of Podujeva, in accordance with the first decision of the CEC for a partial recount. After the second decision for a full recount in all polling stations, the process had passed the municipality of Podujeva and was taking place in other municipalities, according to the planned order," Elezi explained to Express.
According to Elezit, polling stations from this municipality will soon be included in the recount process.
"This process is continuing with full intensity and so far has been carried out according to the order of municipalities, but as of Wednesday afternoon, in order to accelerate the recount, it has been decided to include polling stations from all municipalities and not necessarily in order. So, soon other polling stations from this municipality and others will also be included in the recount," said Elezi.
