Kelmendi reacts: Police should go to mosques and churches

Former Member of Parliament, Gëzim Kelmendi and at the same time Chairman of the "Fjala" party, has reacted after statements made a few days ago by the Director of the Kosovo Police, Rashit Qalaj, against the practice of religious obligations in mosques or churches by police officers.

Kelmendi in a Facebook status said that in the USA and in the EU, policemen and soldiers freely practice their religious obligations during working hours.

This is Kelmendi's full response:

Do not violate the rights of policemen, communism has cursed. Policemen enjoy the legal and constitutional right to go to mosques and churches.

The statement of the director of the Kosovo police, Rashit Qalaj, against the practice of religious obligations in mosques or churches by the police of Kosovo, is a statement against the constitution of the Republic of Kosovo, against the laws in force and against human rights.

Director Qalaj should know that both in the USA and the EU, policemen and soldiers freely practice their religious obligations during working hours.

Even those who, in addition to going to mosques and churches, also have shrines in camps and police and military stations.

Director Qalaj should keep in mind that Kosovo is a democratic country and not a communist country.

Communism has withered.

The police is the pillar of the state of Kosovo.

Any violation of the rights of Kosovo policemen is a violation of the state of Kosovo, it is a violation of the blood of the martyrs.
