Kia breaks Guinness record, here's what it's all about

The Kia PV5 electric van sets a Guinness world record for distance on a single charge.

The Kia PV5 Cargo electric van has traveled 693.38 km on a single charge, almost double the official range of 415 km.

The record was set on real roads north of Frankfurt, with a load of 790 kg.

During the 22-hour test, two drivers completed 12 laps on a 58.2 km long road with realistic traffic conditions.

The vehicle had a 71.2 kWh battery, while the base version has 51.5 kWh and a range of 296 km.

The PV5 is part of Kia's new Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) family of vehicles, based on the E-GMP.S architecture, with a modular design and configuration options as a van, chassis cab or MPV.
