Kosovar pays 1.500 euros to enter Italy illegally, caught hiding in truck

The Border Police in Albania has taken additional measures to prevent and crack down on illegal border crossings. The measures have been taken to strengthen the control of trucks and cars as well as passenger documentation.

During the last 24 hours, as a result of increased controls, 6 citizens have been caught who attempted to cross the Port of Durres while avoiding documentation checks, it reports. Indeksonline.

Among them was a Kosovar citizen. According to the police, during the second line check of the truck driven by citizen E. R, 39 years old, resident of Tirana, citizen GT, 37 years old, born in Kosovo, was found hiding in the truck's cabin, next to the driver's bed.

This citizen, according to Albanian authorities, would cross the border illegally on the Durrës-Ancona line to Italy, paying the ER driver 1 euros.

The truck driver, citizen E. R, was arrested in flagrante delicto, while citizen GT was punished with an administrative fine of 20 thousand new lek./Indeksonline/
