Kurti welcomed mountaineer Uta Ibrahimi on the occasion of climbing the 14 highest peaks in the world

This morning, the acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, welcomed at the government's Open Balcony the first Albanian woman, who has made history in international mountaineering, by climbing the 14 highest peaks in the world, mountaineer Uta Ibrahimi.

Kurti described her as synonymous with heights, not only the heights of the peaks she has climbed, but also the virtues she represents. Uta began her expedition, with the aim of climbing the 14 highest mountains in the world, in May 2017 with the ascent of Everest – 8,848 meters high and finalized it with the last ascent, the 14th in a row, on Kanchenjunga.

"116,294 meters is the total height of the 14 peaks that Uta has climbed... this is 13 times higher than Mount Everest itself... and somewhere around 10 times higher than the average altitude of a regular passenger plane in flight. It is one of those things that we can think about but somehow not even imagine, that seem completely unbelievable if it were not for the living proof - the man who did it, Uta, who is here today, among us... over 116 thousand times fulfilled and proud", said Kurti.

He said that Uta is the example that speaks to everyone, but especially to our young men and women, with the message that dreams are never too big when you have the courage to reach the top and believe in yourself.

"Through you Uta, Kosovo has been to K2, to Annapurna, to Makalu and even to Kanchenjunga. You have been where the storm does not forgive you, where the air is not enough, where the temperature does not promise, but where for people like you - the will is stronger than any stone and rock and there is no peak that cannot be reached. With two flags on your back, which you have carried inside the bag on your arm and inside the heart on your chest, together with the entire country from which you come", said Kurti./Indeksonline/
