Limaj says the Initiative has agriculture as its main priority, 500 million investments within one mandate
The candidate for prime minister from the ranks of the NISMA-AKR-PD coalition, Fatmir Limaj, said that one of the main priorities of Nisma will be investments in agriculture.
The head of the Social Democratic Initiative has said that Kosovo's budget should be oriented towards investments in agriculture, and in this direction they plan to invest 500 million euros in agriculture within a four-year term, thus stimulating farmers.
"The Social Democratic Initiative together with its partners is drafting the governing program where one of the main priorities will be the empowerment of Kosovo's farmers. We believe that the form of allocation of grants in agriculture should be changed, because as it has been applied so far, our farmers are not being helped enough", writes Limaj on Facebook.
Further, Limaj writes that in these two years of government, he has tried his best to support local producers, small and medium businesses, but he has been dissatisfied with the policies in agriculture, for which he has openly expressed his dissatisfaction.
Limaj's full post:
Empowering our farmers, one of the main priorities of the Initiative
Dear citizens of Kosovo, the Social Democratic Initiative will have investments in agriculture as one of its main priorities. Empowering our farmers means opening new jobs, faster economic development and greater safety of the products we consume.
In these two years of governance, we have tried our best to support local producers, small and medium businesses, but we have been dissatisfied with the policies in agriculture, for which I have openly expressed my dissatisfaction.
The Social Democratic Initiative together with its partners is drafting the governing program where one of the main priorities will be the empowerment of Kosovo's farmers.
We believe that the form of allocation of grants in agriculture should be changed, because as it has been applied so far, our farmers are not being helped enough. The Social Democratic initiative estimates that investments in agriculture, through grants, should be increased significantly as a prerequisite for the growth of the agricultural sector.
We estimate that Kosovo's budget should be oriented towards investments in agriculture and in this direction we plan to invest over 500 million euros in agriculture (within a four-year term), thus stimulating our farmers to cultivate traditional and new agricultural crops.
