Macron: In case of peace in Ukraine, Europe must define rules of coexistence with Russia
French President Emmanuel Macron warned today that Europe will have to "define its rules of coexistence" with Russia once a peace deal is reached to end the war in Ukraine, in order to "limit the risk of escalation."
"Europeans must start this work, with their own reflection and specific interests," the French president said during the Munich Security Conference.
He proposed to the Europeans to "launch a series of consultations on this important issue."
"If Europe wants to be in a position of strength to negotiate with Russia in the future, the countries of the Old Continent must actively develop their means in the field of defense," Macron stressed.
