Macron congratulates Osmani, demands that the Brussels and Ohrid agreements be implemented
The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, has sent a letter of congratulations to President Vjosa Osmani, on the occasion of the 18th anniversary of Kosovo's Independence.
In his letter, Macron said that the normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia remains a matter of European security and that France supports the dialogue facilitated by the European Union.
He stated that the Brussels and Ohrid Agreements have set the direction, meaning that it is up to both parties to implement them.
"Based on our common values, in areas as diverse as they are essential, such as Olympism, Francophonie or the promotion of women's rights, I hope that our cooperation can develop in key areas for the future of Kosovo, including through the strengthening of our economic exchanges," Macron's letter states.
Macron has said that the reunification of our continent goes through the membership of the Western Balkan countries in the European Union.
"In the face of the disorder and brutalization of the world, the unity of our continent must remain our common priority," Macron stressed.
