Man kills wife in Germany, injures himself

A 30-year-old mother of four was murdered in Germany.

At around 1:30 a.m., a worried woman from the city of Gelsenkirchen (NRW) called the police, reports Fenix.

She said her husband wanted to kill himself and had already injured himself.

The first police officers arrived at the address just two minutes after the initial call and found the caller covered in blood inside the home. Emergency services members soon found the man, who was also covered in blood and is suspected of having inflicted cuts on himself.

The mother of four died from her injuries. Her Turkish-born husband underwent emergency surgery at the hospital. He is currently in the intensive care unit.

Four minor children (aged 3 to 11) were sleeping in their beds at the time and are now in the care of social services.
