EU medicines regulator: Paracetamol safe to use during pregnancy
The European Medicines Agency (EMA) said on Tuesday that there is no new evidence that would require changes to the region's current recommendations for the use of paracetamol, known as Tylenol in the United States, during pregnancy.
US President Donald Trump on Monday linked autism to the use of childhood vaccines and women taking the popular painkiller Tylenol during pregnancy.
Thus, he placed a claim that is not supported by scientific evidence at the center of US health policy.
"The available evidence has not found any link between paracetamol use during pregnancy and autism," the EMA said in a statement to Reuters.
The agency added that paracetamol can be used during pregnancy when necessary, but always at the lowest effective dose and frequency./RadioEvropaeLirë
