Music improves brain health

According to recent psychological studies, music, or more precisely, music training, improves certain brain functions in children and adults. Researchers at Boston Children's Hospital analyzed the brains and behavior of 15 adults and 15 children, both musicians and non-musicians. They collected and analyzed data on genes, IQ, and parental education.

The study concluded that adult musicians, compared to those who had no connection to music, exhibited better behavior in terms of cognitive flexibility, memory, and verbal fluency.

Children who practiced music also exhibited faster behavior and better information processing.

Such skills are defined in psychology as "executive functioning" skills and are those that enable people to make effective decisions, choices, plans, and strategies, and allow them to be more flexible to change, as well as enable them to process information quickly and efficiently.

The study also revealed another benefit of music: greater activity in the frontal areas of the brain, which are involved in solving various tasks and tasks more easily.
