New details about the crime that is shaking Greece, the charred and handcuffed person is suspected to be an Albanian builder
New and shocking details have been released regarding the serious crime that occurred in Skourta, Boeotia, where a man was found charred inside a burned-out vehicle. One of the details that deepens the mystery is that the victim was found handcuffed behind his back.
Hellenic Police investigators are focusing on 14 recently reported disappearance cases in Attica, with the main attention being paid to the mysterious disappearance of an Albanian builder.
Doubts about the identity and disappearance of the Albanian builder
According to the Greek media Zougla, the Albanian man had disappeared about four days ago. He lived in Evia and was traveling towards Vilia on the day of his disappearance. His vehicle was found abandoned by police and is under investigation.
A family member is expected to provide DNA to authorities to determine whether the charred body found in Skourta is his. His family has stated that he had no prior conflicts with anyone and that he had no prior history with authorities.
Details of the criminal act
The brutal crime, described as a "well-planned action", allegedly happened two days ago, but was only discovered on Friday evening (7/11) when a shepherd arrived at the scene.
The victim was found burned to death and handcuffed behind his back.
The car turned out to have been stolen last May from the Glyfada area and had forged license plates, identical to those of a vehicle from Katerini.
Hellenic Police spokeswoman Constantia Dimoglidou stated that the vehicle has been transferred to forensic laboratories for DNA and fingerprint analysis, stressing that identifying the body is extremely difficult due to the extensive burns.
Investigation tracks
The investigation, led by the Directorate Against Organized Crime, is not ruling out any leads. Due to the violent nature and planning of the crime, authorities are investigating:
Fierce revenge.
Links to a well-organized criminal network.
Possible trafficking of illegal products.
Investigations continue with the collection of evidence and the search for possible accomplices who may have used the vehicle as a means of action.
