Nigeria coach says they were cursed by 'black magic' after elimination by Congo

Nigeria will not be at the World Cup for the second time in a row.

They were eliminated by Congo in the final of the CAF play-offs to qualify for the intercontinental play-offs.

Nigeria coach Eric Chelle was furious after Chancel Mbemba's winning penalty, even accusing Congo's staff of performing "black magic" by spraying the stadium with water.

"During all the penalties, the guy from DR Congo did a little voodoo (black magic). He had something like water and he was spraying it," Chelle declared.

Congo, with the victory over Nigeria, has the last chance to qualify for the World Cup where it will play in the intercontinental play-off./IndeksOnline/
