Tuesday, 09 September 2025 13:47Arben Gashi of the Democratic League of Kosovo said in a Facebook reaction that "neither the majority nor the ethnic minorities" have the right to block the constitution of institutions.
Gashi called on the Constitutional Court to "judge fairly" and not create a precedent.
Full post:
It is in Kosovo's long-term interest that the majority principle also applies to vice-presidents from non-majority communities.
No one has the right to hold the Assembly hostage with political whims – neither the majority nor the ethnic minorities.
Just as the first party gains the right to propose and the obligation to form a majority, minorities also have the obligation to cooperate and find an acceptable candidate.
The court must judge fairly: not to build blocking precedents, but to guarantee the functionality of institutions.
Kosovo needs institutions that work, not deliberately manufactured crises.Indeksonline/
