Policeman who fatally stabbed a person in Prizren is sent to custody
The Kosovo Police Inspectorate has announced that the police officer suspected of hitting a victim with a car, causing fatal injuries, has been remanded in custody for 48 hours.
"Based on initial investigative actions, it is suspected that the driver of the vehicle did not adapt the speed of the vehicle to the road conditions, causing the accident," the IPK statement states.
The accident in question occurred around 18:00, on "Ismajl Kryeziu" street, it writes. IndeksOnline.
The suspect, a police officer, was driving his private vehicle, off-duty.

PIK investigators were notified this evening by the Kosovo Police of a traffic accident involving an off-duty police officer.
The accident reportedly occurred around 18:00 on "Ismajl Kryeziu" street in Prizren, where an off-duty police officer driving a private vehicle caused a traffic accident with fatal consequences, hitting a pedestrian who unfortunately lost his life.
PIK investigators, relevant police units and the acting prosecutor from the Basic Prosecution Office in Prizren have arrived at the scene.
Based on initial investigative actions, it is suspected that the driver of the vehicle did not adapt the driving speed to the road conditions, causing the accident.
A criminal case has been initiated regarding this case regarding the criminal offense of "Endangering public traffic", and the suspect (police officer) has been arrested and has been ordered to be detained for 48 hours.
