Police officers will receive an average of 300 euros for overtime hours.

The Kosovo Government, in today's meeting, has allocated 2 million 600 thousand euros to compensate for overtime work of police officers. According to one calculation, police officers will receive about 300 euros for extra working hours. This is because two euros is considered an hour of extra work for a police officer, reports Indeksonline.

If the 2 million 600 thousand euros allocated today by the Government of Kosovo are allocated to around nine thousand police officers, then it follows that they will receive an average of 288 euros, but here, some police officers have more and some have fewer overtime hours.

The President of the Kosovo Police Union, Shaban Tasholli, for Indeksonline said that there were delays in this process, but that a decision was finally made to compensate for the overtime.

"This payment was also made last year, where the agreement was to continue this year. We had some delays, but finally a decision was made that the overtime hours of all Kosovo Police members who worked overtime would be paid. Depending on how much they worked, how many hours they worked, the overtime hours were calculated," said Tasholli.

Meanwhile, today Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj said that the 'account between the state and the police' is now zero.

"It is painful that Kosovo police officers not only have no law on security, no pension, but they also have no other rights. Imagine, they were asked to work extra hours, but they were not paid. As of today, the score is 0-0, we do not owe each other anything," he stressed after the meeting.Indeksonline/
