Police warn of fake email scam

The Kosovo Police has announced that several fake e-mails are circulating claiming to belong to this institution and that the information has also been released by the General Director of the Kosovo Police.

In the announcement, the Police explained that "This information sent by allegedly high-ranking KP officials, labeled as "COURT SUBMISSIONS".

Official announcement regarding the circulation of fake/fake emails

The Kosovo Police (KP) informs the public regarding the circulation and distribution through various e-mails of some unofficial (false/fake) information, which allegedly belongs to the Kosovo Police and various organizations, this information was allegedly issued by the General Director of the Kosovo Police, therefore it clarifies that:

This information sent by supposedly senior KP officials, labeled as "COURT SUBMISSIONS", with reference numbers of files allegedly issued as highlighted in emails from senior KP management staff, the Kosovo Cyber ​​Security Agency, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the National Cyber ​​Crime Police and the International Criminal Police Organization, etc., are NOT official Kosovo Police documents, much less issued by senior officials within the KP, but are forged emails/documents for use for certain purposes.

The Kosovo Police, as a law enforcement institution, in cooperation and coordination with the justice authorities, after obtaining information about the repeated circulation of such e-mails, is conducting intensive investigations, engaging the competent police units, with the aim of investigating, verifying and discovering the perpetrators of this criminal offense.

The Kosovo Police informs and at the same time invites citizens not to fall prey to such misinformation/fraud and anyone who may receive such an e-mail/document should address it to the official KP address info@kosovopolice.com for further handling and competence.
