Police with operational plan for the November 9th runoff
The Kosovo Police has announced that in order to provide security and ensure the smooth running of the mayoral election process, it has drafted a police operational order, where the necessary police planning has been made regarding the elections (in terms of security), which will be held on November 9, 2025, in Kosovo.
The operational planning, as stated, envisaged the implementation and realization of the police operation during the run-off process, the engagement and guarantee of security, the transport under the escort and security of the KP of sensitive material until the end of the process.
The Kosovo Police has taken additional measures by appointing Police coordinators with the CEC and other institutions engaged in this process, as well as drafting a guide for police officers regarding their legal duties and responsibilities during the run-off.
According to police planning, the purpose of this operational order is: to create a calm and safe climate for all citizens of the Republic of Kosovo, as well as to maintain order, peace and public safety in the country before, during and after the run-off.
Securing voting centers, municipal election councils, municipal warehouses, results counting center, and central warehouses.
Safe transportation and securing of all sensitive election material from all locations foreseen according to the security plan until the conclusion of the police operation related to the run-off process.
Initiating and prosecuting any criminal offense against the right to vote and taking all procedural/criminal measures against anyone who violates the positive laws of the country that regulate/sanction illegal actions against free and democratic elections in close coordination and cooperation with the State Prosecutor's Office according to action plans and prior agreements based on the law.

In implementation of the operational order, with the aim of coordination between the central and regional levels of the Police, an information, advisory and coordination meeting was held today, November 7, 2025, with the directors of the Regional Police Directorates and the senior management of the General Police Directorate. The meeting also discussed the specific points provided for in the operational order, in order to clarify the police duties and activities related to this activity.
The Kosovo Police simultaneously calls on all leaders of electoral entities and citizens to notify the competent institutions and the Kosovo Police of any information or issue related to security, through the fixed and mobile line: 192 or at the email address info@kosovopolice.com as well as at the nearest police stations, so that immediate legal measures can be taken.
