Pseudomonas aeruginosa: The aggressive and resistant bacterium that finds refuge in mobile phones
Pseudomonas aeruginosa is a very aggressive bacteria and tops the list of those found on cell phones.
The reason is simple: the pathogen requires very few nutrients and thus thrives on a wide range of surfaces, from hospital equipment to sinks and smartphones.
Pseudomonas is also among the most antibiotic-resistant bacteria: another reason to limit cell phone use.
Pseudomonas aeruginosa can cause infections in the blood, lungs (pneumonia), urinary tract, or other parts of the body after surgery.
