Radoniqi invites citizens to vote, clarifies dilemmas about assisted voting
The Chairman of the Central Election Commission, Kreshnik Radoniqi, voted today in Peja.
Radoniqi was the first to vote at his polling station, at the "Lidhja e Prizrenit" school, calling on citizens to come out and vote.
"Today we are starting the second round of local elections for mayors. As far as the CEC and with the support of the secretariat are concerned, everything is ready to start voting today and to offer citizens the opportunity to express their will through the vote," declared Radoniqi.
Radoniqi hopes that the process will take place in a democratic manner, as befits it, calling for laws and rules to be respected, he writes. IndeksOnline.
Regarding the dilemmas over voting with assistance, Radoniqi said:
"Regarding assisted voting, the CEC has taken all the steps, procedures and training manual and all of them have been emphasized through training. As it happened in reality, on election day in polling stations, it remains under the administration of the MEC, that is, the Municipal Commissions, and the Voting Councils. We have made it clear that in some places assisted voting has been very emphasized and in some cases their justification has not been appropriate in the voting books. For this reason, we have raised the concern and we hope that today there will be more care."
We remind you that the following municipalities will be subject to the runoff competition: Gjakova, Gjilan, Dragash, Kaçanik, Klina, Fushë-Kosovo Polje, South Mitrovica, Obiliq, Rahovec, Peja, Pristina, Prizren, Suhareka, Vitia, Vushtrri, Junik, Mamusha and Kllokot.
Over 1 million and 316 thousand voters are eligible to vote./IndeksOnline/
