Rutte meets Vance: We are not producing enough weapons, we are not keeping up with the Russians and Chinese
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte met in Munich, within the framework of the Security Conference, with US Vice President JD Vance.
Rutte told Vance that the issue of burden-sharing for global security is crucial.
He thanked Trump's deputy "for everything you have done over the years in engaging with Europe," reports Klankosova.tv.
Rutte also said that Europe must take more responsibility within NATO.
"We need to grow in this sense and spend much more," Rutte declared after meeting with Vance.
Among other things, the NATO chief said that the meeting also discussed the defense industrial base, saying that "we are simply not producing enough."
"We are not keeping up with the Russians and the Chinese," he said.
The meeting also discussed "lasting peace" in Ukraine.
"There should not be another Minsk. So, (peace) must be sustainable. Putin must never try it again. And how do we get them to a place with maximum power when the talks start," Rutte said.
