Samsung introduces the first model that folds and becomes a tablet
In Seoul, Samsung officially introduced the Galaxy Z TriFold, the first smartphone that folds into three parts and opens into a screen the size of a smaller tablet.
With this model, the company wants to confirm its technological advantage in the flexible device category, which is expanding rapidly, especially with the arrival of new Chinese competitors and Apple's expected entry into this segment.

The TriFold looks like a slightly thicker phone when folded and opens from the inside using two hinges of different sizes.

When fully expanded, it offers a 10-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display and enough space to work on three apps simultaneously. Samsung says it works like three 6.5-inch displays connected together.

The device weighs 309 grams and when closed is 12.9 millimeters thick, which is thicker than classic foldable models, but still enough to fit in a pocket. Water resistance is rated at IP48, which means protection against water up to a certain depth, but not dust resistance.
The TriFold is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite and has a 200-megapixel main camera. It has a 5,600mAh battery, the largest in Samsung's foldable phone lineup, with fast charging up to 50 percent in about half an hour.
Sales begin on December 12 in South Korea, followed by China, Taiwan, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States in early 2026. In the first phase, it comes only in black.Indeksonline/
