Security expert: Kosovo towards NATO, Trump will make the announcement in Tirana

In a live broadcast on the Balkan Talks show, Kosovo security expert Bedri Elezi spoke about expected developments in the region.

Elezi said that according to the information he has, the planned visit of the President of the United States of America to Tirana in 2027 could mark a historic moment for Kosovo, describing it as the "Second Independence", through the country's membership in NATO, writes euronews.

"According to the information we have, the visit of the US president to Tirana in 2027 could mark an important moment for Kosovo, as it will be the "Second Independence", where the United States and President Trump are expected to announce in Tirana Kosovo's membership in NATO," said Elezi.

Elezi also emphasized the strategic importance of the new anti-missile system that, according to him, is expected to be installed in Kosovo.

He emphasized that this air defense system, according to him, will increase security not only for Kosovo, but for the entire Balkan peninsula, guaranteeing protection from potential regional threats.

"Information shows that within the framework of new American commitments in the Balkans, the military base in Ferizaj will be resized and will turn into an American military base with an air defense system inside it. This system is expected to increase the security not only of Kosovo, but also of the entire Balkan region, guaranteeing protection from possible threats," he said.
