Slovenian star speaks: Only a united Slovenia can stop Kosovo
Swansea striker Zan Vipotnik has spoken ahead of the crucial match against Kosovo, underlining that only a united Slovenia has a chance of achieving a positive result in this 2026 World Cup qualifying match.
Vipotnik emphasized that the match will be quite difficult, as Kosovo will enter the field with maximum motivation and desire to secure a historic result.
"I expect the Kosovo players to be very motivated, but we have to show the same motivation. The match will decide who is stronger, but I hope we come out victorious," Vipotnik told the Football Federation of Slovenia.
Currently, Kosovo is second in Group C with 7 points, three less than Switzerland, which leads the group, while Slovenia has only 3 points.
Saturday's match at 20:45 is of crucial importance for the fate of the qualifiers: a positive result for Kosovo could mathematically ensure participation in the play-offs and bring it closer to direct qualification for the 2026 World Cup.
Vipotnik wants his team to show unity and character to stop Kosovo's attacks and keep Slovenia's hopes alive in this strong group.
