Spain finds no peace: Third railway accident in less than a week
A passenger train collided with a construction crane in southeastern Spain on Thursday, in the country's third rail accident in less than a week.
Several people suffered minor injuries in the accident near the port city of Cartagena in the Murcia region, authorities said, The Independent reports.
"The train has not overturned and has not derailed," a spokesman for Murcia's emergency services said. The first calls about the accident came in just after noon, they added.
Spanish rail operator Adif said in X that traffic on that line had been disrupted due to "interference in the infrastructure gauges by a crane not belonging to the railway operation", without providing further details.
